Darkstalker

Listener and Clearsight grow closer, although Listener does not understand why Clearsight spends so much time with Darkstalker. Similarly, Clearsight tries to warn Listener about her current crush, but Listener refuses to listen.

One day, Darkstalker invites Clearsight to his house for the first time while his parents are away. He asks her not to look into the future so that he can surprise her. Clearsight notices that Darkstalker’s home seems designed to honor Arctic’s IceWing heritage. Over the fireplace, Whiteout has painted a family portrait, showing them as kinder and closer than they seem in real life. Darkstalker takes Clearsight to his room, revealing a secret drawer designed to stay hidden from Arctic. Darkstalker pulls out a scroll and explains that he has placed all his animus power into it.

Darkstalker tells Clearsight that he no longer has animus magic, which protects his soul, but they can still enchant objects by writing spells on the scroll. Clearsight checks possible futures and sees mostly positive outcomes. She hugs Darkstalker, feeling honored that he sacrificed so much for her.
